Building automation and controls integration for commercial buildings — HVAC, heating, cooling and ventilation managed from a unified system. Mechora Mechanical designs, installs and commissions BAS across Ontario.
Controls and automation for the mechanical systems in commercial buildings — design, integration, installation and commissioning.
Controls system design for new and existing commercial buildings — selecting, specifying and integrating the components that form the automation network.
Control integration for HVAC systems — thermostats, variable frequency drives, damper actuators, air handling units and rooftop units connected to a central controller.
Occupancy-based scheduling and setpoint programming — equipment runs when it needs to, at the parameters the building requires, not on manual timer switches.
System monitoring with alarm conditions — temperature out-of-range, equipment fault and communication failure alerts routed to building operators.
Demand-controlled ventilation, setback schedules and load-shedding logic that reduce energy consumption without compromising occupant comfort.
Commissioning and verification of the complete controls system — confirming sequences operate as designed before handover to building operations staff.
Building automation applies wherever multiple mechanical systems share a building — keeping them coordinated rather than running independently.
Occupancy-based HVAC scheduling, zone control and energy setbacks for multi-tenant and single-tenant office facilities.
Corridor ventilation, common-area HVAC and central boiler plant controls for condominium and apartment buildings.
Store-hours-based scheduling and tenant sub-metering integration for retail-anchored properties with varied occupancy profiles.
Process exhaust, make-up air units and temperature-controlled storage zone management with alarm integration.
School, religious facility and community centre mechanical systems on a unified controls platform with scheduled occupancy modes.
Kitchen exhaust and make-up air interlocking, walk-in refrigeration monitoring and dining-area HVAC control.
Building automation is most effective when designed alongside the mechanical systems it controls. When Mechora Mechanical installs HVAC, hydronic heating or commercial plumbing systems, the controls scope can be integrated from the start — specifying the right controller hardware, sensor locations and wiring pathways while the building is being roughed-in rather than after the fact. The result is a cleaner installation with fewer compromises than a retrofit integration.
For existing buildings, Mechora can assess the current controls infrastructure, identify compatibility with available BAS platforms, and design an integration plan. This may mean adding a front-end to existing standalone controllers, replacing legacy DDC equipment with a modern open-protocol platform, or expanding an existing BAS to cover additional systems. All controls work is performed by licensed, insured mechanical contractors working to Ontario codes and standards.
A building automation system (BAS) is a centralized control network that monitors and manages a building's mechanical systems — HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and related equipment. A BAS allows building operators to control setpoints, schedules and alarms from one interface instead of managing each piece of equipment individually.
Primarily HVAC — heating, cooling, ventilation, air handling units and rooftop equipment. A BAS can also integrate with hydronic systems, refrigeration controls, lighting controls and energy metering depending on the system design and the building's needs.
Properly configured automation can reduce energy consumption by running equipment on optimized schedules, avoiding simultaneous heating and cooling, and flagging equipment that is running outside normal parameters. The actual impact depends on current operating practices and building type — Mechora does not make specific savings guarantees.
Yes — Mechora works on existing BAS installations for integration, reprogramming and expansion, as well as new installations. Compatibility with existing systems is assessed at enquiry before a scope of work is proposed.
Commercial buildings, office buildings, multi-unit residential, retail, industrial and institutional facilities across Ontario. BAS scope and complexity is confirmed at enquiry based on the building's mechanical systems and the client's operational requirements.
BAS and controls integration can be included as part of a broader Mechora Mechanical project, or quoted as a standalone scope. When Mechora installs HVAC or hydronic systems, controls integration can be designed in from the start for a more cohesive result.
