Terms of Service | Mechora Group Plumbing & Mechanical

Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 2026  |  Mechora Group Inc., Maple, Ontario

1. Agreement and Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client," "you," or "your") and Mechora Group Inc. ("Mechora Group," "we," "our," or "us"), a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada with its principal place of business in Maple, Ontario.

By requesting a quote, booking a service, or authorizing work to proceed — whether verbally, in writing, or by electronic means — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are booking on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.

2. Services We Provide

Mechora Group Inc. is a licensed and insured trades company providing the following categories of service across the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario:

  • Plumbing: Drain cleaning, pipe repair and replacement, fixture installation, water line repair, sewer repair and replacement (including trenchless CIPP lining methods), sump pump installation, backflow prevention, and related residential and commercial plumbing work.
  • Emergency Plumbing: Urgent response to burst pipes, severe blockages, water leaks, and similar plumbing emergencies during our business hours.
  • Water Heater Services: Installation, replacement, and repair of tank and tankless water heaters, including Enbridge rental buyout services.
  • HVAC and Mechanical: Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installation, maintenance, and repair; related mechanical services.
  • Commercial Plumbing: Plumbing services for commercial and multi-residential properties, including ongoing maintenance and new construction tie-ins.
  • Construction Plumbing: Rough-in plumbing for new builds, additions, and renovation projects.
  • Hydro-Jetting: High-pressure drain and sewer line cleaning using water jetting equipment.
  • Camera Inspection: Sewer and drain line inspection using CCTV camera equipment, with video reports available upon request.

The specific scope of work for each engagement is defined in the written quote or service authorization provided prior to commencement. We reserve the right to decline requests that fall outside our licensing, capability, or service area, or that present safety concerns.

3. Quotes and Estimates

Written Quotes

For all non-emergency work, we provide written quotes before any chargeable work begins. A quote sets out the scope of work, materials, and estimated or fixed price. We offer both:

  • Fixed-price quotes: A guaranteed price for a clearly defined scope. The price will not change unless the scope changes.
  • Estimated quotes: An estimated price range for work where the full extent cannot be determined until work begins (e.g., after opening a wall or inspecting a drain line). You will be notified and must authorize any work that would exceed the estimate before it proceeds.

Scope Changes

If, during the course of work, we discover conditions not apparent at the time of quoting — such as corroded pipes behind a wall, unexpected drain configurations, or code-required upgrades — we will stop work, advise you of the additional scope, and provide a change order before continuing. Work will not proceed on out-of-scope items without your written or verbal authorization, which we will record.

Quote Validity

Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Material price changes, seasonal demand, or changes to the site conditions after quote issuance may require us to reissue the quote.

4. Scheduling and Access

You agree to provide our technicians with safe and reasonable access to the areas of your property where work is to be performed at the scheduled appointment time. This includes:

  • Clear access to the relevant plumbing, drain, or HVAC systems
  • Access to the water main shut-off and electrical panel where required
  • A safe working environment free of hazards, including pets secured away from the work area
  • An authorized adult (18+) present at the property for the duration of the visit for residential jobs

If our technician arrives at the scheduled time and cannot access the property or begin work due to conditions within your control, a service call fee may apply to cover travel and dispatch costs.

We will make reasonable efforts to arrive within any appointment window communicated at the time of booking. We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, prior job overruns, or circumstances beyond our control.

5. Payment Terms

Residential Clients

Payment for residential services is due in full upon completion of work, unless a deposit or alternative payment schedule was agreed in writing at the time of booking. We accept cash, cheque, e-Transfer, and major credit cards. An invoice will be provided on completion of each job.

Commercial Clients

Commercial accounts with an established credit arrangement are invoiced on net-30 terms from the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in a written service agreement. New commercial clients may be required to pay a deposit of up to 50% before work commences on larger projects.

Deposits

For projects with material costs exceeding $1,000, or for custom-order equipment (e.g., specialty water heaters or HVAC units), we may require a deposit of 30–50% of the quoted price before ordering materials. Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered on your behalf.

Late Payment

Invoices not paid within the agreed terms may be subject to interest at a rate of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) on the outstanding balance. We reserve the right to pursue collection through Ontario civil process for unpaid accounts, and to charge reasonable collection costs to the overdue account.

We will always provide a clear, itemized invoice before requesting payment. If you have a question about any item on your invoice, please contact us before the due date so we can resolve it promptly.

6. Warranty

Labour Warranty — 1 Year

We stand behind our workmanship. All labour performed by Mechora Group Inc. is warranted against defects for one (1) year from the date of service completion.

Parts & Equipment

Parts and equipment are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which varies by product. We will assist you in processing a manufacturer warranty claim where applicable.

What Our Labour Warranty Covers

Our 1-year labour warranty covers defects in the workmanship of our technicians — for example, a fitting that was not correctly installed, or a repair that fails due to the manner in which it was made. If a covered defect arises within 12 months of completion, we will return to correct it at no charge for labour.

What Our Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, freezing, or physical impact after our work is complete
  • Problems caused by pre-existing conditions that were not part of the quoted scope
  • Normal wear and deterioration of parts not installed by us
  • Work performed by other contractors after our service
  • Consumable materials (e.g., filters, certain seals) subject to scheduled maintenance
  • Blockages that recur due to root intrusion or ongoing grease/debris accumulation unrelated to our cleaning method

Warranty claims must be reported to us at info@mechoragroup.com or (249) 733-7907 within the warranty period. We will schedule a return visit within a reasonable time.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, Mechora Group Inc.'s liability for any claim arising from the services we provide is limited to the total amount paid by you for the specific service that gave rise to the claim.

We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, business interruption, or property damage not directly caused by our negligence.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for:

  • Personal injury or death caused by our negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any liability that cannot lawfully be limited under Ontario consumer protection legislation

We carry commercial general liability insurance and are licensed in Ontario. Proof of insurance and licensing is available upon request.

8. Property and Existing Conditions

You are responsible for disclosing any known pre-existing conditions at your property that may affect the safety or scope of our work, including known asbestos, lead paint, mould, prior flood or fire damage, or non-standard construction. Failure to disclose known conditions may affect warranty coverage and may result in additional charges if our technicians encounter undisclosed hazards.

We take care to protect your property during service, including using drop cloths and maintaining a clean work area. However, some trades work — particularly drain cleaning, pipe repair, or sewer work — may require access that results in minor disruption to finishes such as drywall or flooring. We will discuss any such requirements with you before proceeding and will explain what restoration, if any, is included in the quoted scope.

Mechora Group is not a general contractor for finish restoration unless explicitly included in the written quote.

9. Permits and Regulatory Compliance

Certain plumbing and mechanical work requires a permit under the Ontario Building Code (OBC) or TSSA regulations. Where a permit is required and we are the performing contractor, we will advise you of the permit requirement, and the permit cost will be included in or added to the written quote.

You are responsible for ensuring that your property may lawfully be serviced and that any consents from landlords, strata corporations, or building management are in place before our arrival. Mechora Group is not responsible for delays or costs arising from permit refusals or third-party access restrictions that were not disclosed at the time of booking.

10. Cancellations and Termination

Client Cancellations

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a booked appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee equal to our standard service call rate, to cover the cost of dispatching a technician.

For larger projects where materials have already been ordered to your specifications, materials costs that are non-refundable from our suppliers may be passed on to you if you cancel after materials have been procured.

Right to Stop Work

We reserve the right to stop work and leave the site if: (a) our technicians are subjected to unsafe working conditions or abusive behaviour; (b) the scope of work has materially changed and authorization for the change cannot be obtained; (c) outstanding invoices from prior work remain unpaid; or (d) we discover conditions that make it technically or legally inadvisable to continue without further assessment.

11. Dispute Resolution

We are committed to resolving any disputes fairly and directly. If you have a concern about any work we have performed or any invoice we have issued, we ask that you contact us first at info@mechoragroup.com or (249) 733-7907 so we have the opportunity to address it.

If we are unable to resolve a dispute informally, you may:

  • Contact the Consumer Protection Ontario (ServiceOntario) at 1-800-889-9768, which administers the Ontario Consumer Protection Act and related legislation governing home service providers.
  • File a claim in the Ontario Small Claims Court for disputes up to $35,000.
  • Pursue mediation or arbitration if mutually agreed in writing.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Any court proceedings shall be brought in the courts of Ontario having jurisdiction over the matter.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, applicable law, or service offerings. The updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. For ongoing service contracts, material changes will be communicated to you directly.

Your continued use of our services after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to updated Terms, please contact us before booking further services.
