A shower that drips after the valve is turned off usually has a worn cartridge or O-ring inside the valve body. The cartridge controls the flow and temperature of water. When it degrades, it can't fully stop water from passing through. Replacing the cartridge is typically a same-visit repair.
The shower cartridge is the internal component inside your shower valve that controls water flow and temperature. Signs of a failing cartridge include dripping after shutoff, difficulty adjusting temperature, inconsistent water temperature, or a handle that spins without resistance. Cartridge replacement is a standard plumbing repair.
It depends on the source of the leak. Many shower leaks are at the valve, supply connections or drain — which can be accessed and repaired without disturbing tile. If the leak is at the shower pan or behind the wall at a connection point, the scope of work depends on the specific location. We will assess and explain what's required before any work begins.
Slow bathtub drainage is most often caused by hair and soap buildup in the drain or the overflow assembly. A plumber can clear the obstruction using appropriate tools. If the blockage is deeper in the drain line, a snake or camera inspection may be needed.
Signs include water stains on the ceiling below the bathroom, a soft or discoloured area on the floor near the shower, or a persistent mold smell. These indicate water is escaping from the shower enclosure or drain. The longer a leak like this goes unaddressed, the more structural damage can occur.
