Common questions about kitchen and bathroom plumbing

In most Ontario municipalities, a building permit is required when you are adding or relocating plumbing — such as a new bathroom rough-in, moving a drain stack, or adding a basement bathroom. Repairs and like-for-like fixture replacements typically do not require a permit. We can advise at the estimate stage whether a permit applies to your project scope.
As early as possible — ideally before framing walls are closed or floors are finished. Plumbing rough-in needs to be in place before drywall, tile and finishes go in. Getting the plumber involved early prevents costly changes later and ensures the layout works with your drain locations and slope requirements.
Yes. Basement bathroom rough-in is one of our common residential scopes. Below-grade installations typically require either breaking the concrete floor to tie into the main drain at the proper slope, or using an upflush system (macerating pump) where breaking concrete is not feasible. We will assess your basement and explain the options at the estimate stage.
Adding a laundry room requires hot and cold water supply lines run to the washer location, a drain and standpipe for washer discharge, and optionally a utility sink with its own drain connection. If your home doesn't already have water supply in the area, new lines will need to be run from an existing branch.
Yes. We work alongside general contractors and renovation teams regularly. We can coordinate scope, timing and inspection scheduling with your contractor. If you don't have a contractor yet, we can complete the plumbing scope independently.
